Refund & Returns Policy

At SMX Drives (Three Shul Motors Pvt Ltd), we build controllers we stand behind. If a product doesn't work as promised, this policy tells you exactly what happens next. For questions email support@smxdrives.com.
1. No Change-of-Mind Returns
We do not accept returns for change of mind, buyer's remorse, or any reason unrelated to a product defect. Returns are only accepted when the product has a genuine manufacturing or shipping issue, as described below.
2. When We Accept a Return
- The product arrived defective, non-functional, or damaged in transit.
- The wrong item or configuration was shipped.
- The controller fails under normal use within the 12-month warranty period — see §3.
Proof of purchase (order number or invoice) is required in every case.
3. Warranty Replacements
Every SMX Drives controller is covered by a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturing defects. If the unit fails under normal use within the warranty period, we repair or replace it free of charge. Start a claim at /warranty/claim.
4. How to Request a Return
- Email support@smxdrives.com with your order number, photos or a short video of the issue, and a brief description. You can also open a ticket at /contact.
- We will review your request within 2 business days. If the issue qualifies, we will email you the return shipping address and next steps.
5. Refund Timeline
Once we receive and inspect the returned product, we will notify you of approval or rejection within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7 – 10 business days after approval. International bank refunds may take up to 14 business days depending on your bank.
6. Shipping Costs
- Defective or wrong item shipped: we pay return shipping and issue a full refund including original shipping.
- International returns: any customs duties paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable, in line with Indian export regulations.
7. Damaged or Lost in Transit
Inspect your package on arrival. If it is visibly damaged or the product is broken in transit, email us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the outer box, packaging, and product. We will file a carrier claim and send a replacement.
8. Non-Returnable Situations
- Controllers with physical damage from incorrect wiring, over-voltage, reverse polarity, or water ingress beyond the IP rating.
- Units with tampered seals, removed serial numbers, or third-party modifications.
- Custom firmware builds and OEM-branded production runs.
- Digital downloads, PDFs, and gift cards.
9. Cancellations
Orders can only be cancelled within 24 hours of placing the order. After 24 hours, the order enters our dispatch queue and cannot be cancelled. Email support@smxdrives.com immediately if you need to cancel.
